Methodology for the validation of NDT-CE methods using transit time measurement

چکیده
Validation is in many fields of technology state-of-the-art to furnish the proof that customer demands are fulfilled. Validation contributes to improve the application safety of a method and helps to leverage not standardised methods. A validation methodology has been developed with the three main steps “method characterisation”, “customer demands” and “customer fulfillment”. Starting with a universal approach, the methodology is specified for non-destructive testing methods (NDT) utilising transit time as measurand. The validation methodology can also be applied to other NDT-methods. The uncertainty of measurement plays a decisive role in method characterisation. The uncertainty of measurement is determined according to the Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurements (GUM). To furnish the proof of customer fulfillment, statistical standard methods (confidence interval and significance test) can be applied as well as methods of reliability theory used for the first time in NDT in civil engineering. This contribution rounds off with an application for a validation for the pile length measurement at bored concrete piles applying Low-Strain method. Elle est calculée selon le GUM (Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurements).

Independent assessment of source transit time for the BEBIG SagiNova® high dose rate brachytherapy afterloader
Introduction: The dwell time and transit time components contribute to the overall delivered dose to patients in high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy treatments. The transit time results from source entry and exit as well as source movements between dwell positions. It depends on various parameters such as the source speed profile, source indexer distance to dwell position, and ...

The deterioration of railway tracks raises great concerns about the integrity of assessments and evaluations of railway tracks currently in service. Integrated inspection strategies coupled with innovations in inspection technology can lead to significant improvements in operational cost efficiency and reliability without the requirement of a fundamental shift in the existing understanding o...
متن کاملCalculation of 99mTc-DTPA transit times in normal kidney [Persian]
Introduction: Renal dynamic study is a well-established and popular test in routine practice of nuclear medicine. The test is non-invasive, rapid and unique in evaluation of the kidney function. In despite of its clinical values, the parameters derived from renogram are physiologically meaningless. That is due to the fact that renogram is not the true kidney function. From mathematical po...
متن کاملValidation of a new non-invasive blood pressure measurement method on mice via pulse wave propagation time measurement on a cuff.
In the present article, we describe the validation of a new non-invasive method for measuring blood pressure (BP) which also enables to determine the three BP values: systolic, diastolic and mean value. Our method is based on the pulse transit time (PTT) measurement along an artery directly at the BP cuff. The accuracy of this method was evaluated by comparison with the direct simultaneous meas...
متن کاملEvaluation of gastric and small bowel transit times in coeliac disease with the small bowel PillCam®: a single centre study in a non gluten-free diet adult Italian population with coeliac disease.
BACKGROUND The mechanisms underlying bowel disturbances in coeliac disease are still relatively unclear. Past reports suggested that small bowel motor abnormalities may be involved in this pathological condition; there are no studies addressing small bowel transit in coeliac disease before and after a gluten-free diet. AIM The objective of this study was to determine whether capsule endoscopy...
